My plan for whenlifetalks.com (which is still in the developing stage) is to blog of course, with some journal entries, and poetry which I have written covering topics in regards to struggles we incur daily in our lives. I hope those that choose to journey along with me through “when-life-talks” enjoy the ride. My first blog, which follows, turned out as a surprise and not at all what I had originally planned. I accepted this blog as a challenge, another of life’s crossroads which we all find ourselves in at times and have to make a choice.
As a person who is Pro-Life I never stopped to consider that a woman who has chosen to abort her baby would be scared. If I was not such an avid writer I would be at a total loss for words. This is very difficult for me to write about because I have seen the devastation that abortion brings. So many people believe that their actions affect no one other than themselves, this could not be further from the truth.
There are so many thoughts racing through my mind as I write about the videotaping of an extermination of a life. I have always advocated for the rights of the unborn, they have no voice it has not developed yet. In the beginning stages of one’s life, they are becoming a human being; therefore, no matter the semantics people use to create this fantasy, that the beginning of life is just tissue, can overwhelm the most intelligent mind. The fact remains that abortion takes a life-to-be and annihilates it.
There was a time in America when our children had little to no rights, this has changed thanks to the sacrifices people made to rectify this travesty of justice. I speak out for the unborn when I state, “It is time for the unborn to have rights.” I have lived in this great country long enough to see how Pro-Choice advocates change their tactics to their advantage each time they are caught in a lie. There were years when they professed the first trimester was a fetus, which basically is the later stages of development. When people realized this, Pro-choice simply changed their wording. At present, according to Emily Letts, the fetus is now referred to as an embryo, which is the earlier stages of development. It does not matter what stage of development a life is experiencing, the key word here is development which infers it is not complete. There is no amount of semantics that can alter the fact that from fertilization of the egg until full gestation life is in the making.
If we are going to profess that we are a free country then let us afford freedom to ALL and not just the chosen. It is embarrassing to me, an American woman, to play this word game when facts cannot be changed nor can they be altered. The fact is, when a woman chooses abortion (as some people viewed in the Emily Letts YouTube Abortion video) she is having removed from her womb a life-to-be, period. It matters not the stage of development the only thing that matters is this was a life in formation. Abortion stops this process robbing a new life of all rights promised to every American citizen in this Country.
What is the truth behind Ms. Letts decision to have her abortion filmed and displayed for everyone to view on YouTube which is a highly rated site visited by millions a day. I keep asking myself why? Her reasoning was, “I searched the internet, and I couldn’t find a video of an actual surgical procedure…” (“Why I Filmed My Abortion” written by Heather Wood Rudolph and printed in Cosmopolitan Magazine). This, my friends is not a reason to have your abortion filmed. In the beginning of the article she stated, “I was a professional actress for many years” this interests me as it leaves me wondering could there be a connection? She entered into this not as a sixteen year old with no idea of what was to come but as an adult with full knowledge this video could go viral.
I never would have predicted that my first blog would touch on a subject so close to my heart. I am Pro-Life I believe in it and I live it so in consequence my original subject of which I had prepared, preceding the YouTube video, somehow did not matter.
